If I hear about “traction” or “deliverables” again…

Ugh. How many times can you hear the word “traction” in a day? I HATE corporate speak. Can’t we all speak like human beings? It really grates on my nerves any time I hear my manager or some other upper management person talk as if they are presenting a PhD dissertation to a group of business professors. Even the business professors will probably call them on their bulls**t.
Who actually talks like that in real life?? Not me. I just get to the point.
For example: “This discussion is for offline. We need to leverage our resources to meet the deliverables” is really….”Let’s talk about this after the meeting. We need to figure out who has time to do the work so we can finish the job and not get our a**es chewed out.”
Man…so easy. Yet so difficult for management to say this.
I found the perfect book called The Dictionary of Corporate Bullshit: An A to Z Lexicon of Empty, Enraging, and Just Plain Stupid Office Talk. Enjoy.
